This is a masterpiece of Chinese calligraphy, named 兰亭序 “Lanting Xu”, meaning: Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion. Lanting Xu was composed by one of the most famous calligraphy master Wang Xizhi, and it was composed in 353.
In the article, the author described a gathering of 42 literature masters at the Orchid Pavilion in Kuaiji Shanyin (near Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, in modern day), during the Spring Purification Festival to compose poems and enjoy the wine. In the gatherings, they talked about the beautiful view around them, how times flied and things changed, and human being have such a little control over living and dying.
